A Cena is an AA Rosette award winning Fine Italian Restaurant. Voted into the top 10 Independant Italian Restaurants in London for its high quality Italian cuisine.
First opened by Tim & Camilla Healy in October 2001, after 18 years building a reputation for relaxed, elegant Italian dining, they sold A Cena to Tom Rowlandson in March 2019.
An experienced and successful Head Chef with 20 years in the hospitality industry, Tom trained at Leiths School of Food & Wine London. He then went on to work with Daylesford Organic, Salt Yard Group, Petersham Nurseries, Fullers Group and Antipodea London, working his way up to Assistant Executive Chef.
Tom’s culinary cookery passion has always been focused on classic Italian, French & Spanish food.
Since taking ownership of A Cena, Tom and the team continue to build on A Cena’s great reputation adding an AA Rosette award and being voted into the top 10 Independant Italian Restaurants in London.
With Tom’s wife Jade, an experienced and professionally trained restaurant manager, running front of house, diners receive the warmest of welcomes and outstanding customer experience. Everything you’d expect from a family run business.
In June 2020 Head Chef James Allen Thompson (who trained under Jason Atherton) made the move from Evelyn’s Table in Soho joining as Head Chef, bringing with him his tight brigade of chefs.
James is all about serious cooking, elegant presentation, with an ever daily changing seasonal menu, full of stripped-down, honest Italian dishes.
Since his arrival, A Cena has retained its AA Rosette Award, most recently being recommended for a second & third Rosette.
We host a number of events throughout the year, from our very own Supper Club to wedding breakfasts, birthday parties, anniversary, corporate lunches and dinners.
